BILLING

What is the last day of the month to make changes to my account?

The last date to make a change to your account is the 25th of the month.

What day does automatic billing take place?

Beach House Tan of New England now bills on the first of the month.  If the billing date falls on a weekend or holiday, your payment date will not change.

Can I change the automatic billing date?

No, the draft date is the 1st of every month for all Beach House Tan salons.

Why do you need my checking account info for membership?

The method in which members are able to pay for their monthly membership has changed over the years in order to ensure the very best prices available. Effective Jan 1, 2020,  Beach House Tanning Clubs will accept payment through checking accounts for our VIP and FLEX memberships. We require an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through checking accounts for your convenience: This allows us to be able to continue your membership without interruption or the hassle of updating your payment information if your credit cards are lost/stolen, invalid or expired.

Can I change the account that my membership is charged?

The account can be changed by visiting the store location where you purchased your membership and giving a Beach House Tan Consultant the new information in writing.

I was charged for a month that I didn't tan.  Can I be refunded that amount? 

We do not offer refunds for services that are not used.

When you are on a monthly auto-draft (EFT) membership, you are responsible for paying your dues each month regardless of whether you choose to utilize the service.

If you paid for your membership up front (PIF), you are paying for tanning through a specific expiration date. It is your responsibility to take advantage of the service you have paid for before it expires.

How do I resolve a membership billing issue or submit a question?

Our customer care team can be reached at (860) 341-1470 and are available from 9am to 5pm Monday thru Friday (EST).  You can also email Customer Care and we will deliver your message to the appropriate person for follow up.

CANCELLATIONS

How can I cancel my membership?

We hate to see you go, But if you must, the process is easy. You can fill out a cancellation form by visiting any Beach House Tan salon by the 25th of the month.  Memberships can't unfortunately, be cancelled by email or phone. Please remember that your cancellation request is subject to any obligations of your membership agreement. A tanning consultant will be able to review the terms of your membership agreement and answer any questions you have. If you are cancelling because your unsatisfied with your current location, please speak with your local club manager before making your final decision. We welcome feedback and would love the opportunity to improve and hopefully change your mind. Remember, cancelling your membership needs to occur before the 25th of each month.

What is Stay n $ave?

Our Stay n $ave program allows you to put your membership on a freeze status for as long as you like, securing your current membership pricing. During that time, we will bill your Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) account a low monthly fee* which, in turn, accumulates on your in-store account as Tan Dollars to be used towards lotion, upgrades, or other services or products. We’ll secure your premier status at our salons! Tan Dollars are non-refundable and are not applied to any monthly drafts. Tan Dollars expire one year from the date of cancellation or reactivation.

How can I put my account on Stay n $ave?

You can enroll in Stay n $ave by visiting any Beach House Tan salon. For your security, we only accept changes in person. No exceptions.

Can I tan while on Stay n $ave?

Yes, discounted tanning sessions are available on Stay n $ave.

Will I have to pay a start-up fee when I resume tanning?

No, there is no start-up or enrollment fee to resume tanning after Stay n $ave. Your preferred status will be reactivated based upon a pro-rated reactivation price, which is determined by the level of membership you have and the day you reactivate.  We make it easy to come back anytime your ready!

Do I keep my original monthly membership fee when I resume tanning?

Yes, your monthly membership rate stays the same after reactivating your account. The only time it would change, is if you cancel your membership.

CREDITS

Can I give my friends some of my tans?

No, we do not allow splitting, sharing or transferring of tans. We do offer a tanning package to meet everyone’s needs, so be sure to have your friends talk to one of our trained tanning consultants to set them up with the best option.

How do the session packages work?

Session packages are a group of tans purchased in advance at a discounted price.  They expire 6 months from date of first tan.

I would like to work for Beach House Tan. How can I apply for a position?

You can stop in any Beach House Tan location and a trained Tanning Consultant can give you an application.  We are an equal opportunity employer.

I left something in the room that I tanned in last time. How can I see if someone found it?

Anytime we find anything in the rooms, we keep the item in our store’s lost & found. Either call or visit the store where you might have left the item, and they will be more than happy to search the lost & found for you.

Where do I direct any comments or complaints regarding a Beach House Tan store employee?

I can only come before or after I go to work. Will you be open then?

Yes! Every one of our store locations is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. during the week and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the weekends! We do close for major holidays, and will post a notice of any closings on the front door of each store ahead of time as well as on social media.

Can I return or exchange a tanning lotion that I have purchased?

  • The tanning or skin care lotion must be returned within seven (7) days of purchase from Beach House Tan.
  • The lotion must be at least 3/4 full, or we will be unable to exchange or refund its original value.
  • The lotion exchange/refund must be conducted by a Beach House Tan manager or assistant manager.
  • The lotion will be exchanged for in-store credit in the form of a membership upgrade, another retail product(s) or a sunless spray session(s) of equal value.
  • No cash refund or in-store credit will be made for lotion sample packets.

Why would I need to tan with indoor tanning lotion? When I went in to tan, I was told it was important.

Certain products that work well when tanning outside do not work well in the beds.

Lotions or oils that are particularly greasy or oily will cause a film on the tanning acrylic that impairs your tanning and damages the acrylic.

It is also important to switch up your lotion to continually stimulate your skin and enhance your results.

I was told I could only tan once a day. Is this true?

Yes. State and Federal law prohibits anyone from tanning more than once within 24 hours. We have both legal and software restrictions that will not allow us to tan you again until the next day. Unfortunately, this is not something we have control over.

Keep in mind that this law applies to UV beds only, not sunless tanning.

Why am I always asked if I have my googles?

State and federal law both require that you wear proper protective eyewear when tanning. We sell both regular and temporary goggles at each of our locations.

Your eyelids are too thin to block out the UV rays, and they can penetrate a towel, so it does not help to just cover your eyes.

I was told I could not take my child into the tanning room with me. Why is that?

Under state and federal law, you are not allowed to have any other person in the room with you when you are tanning. This includes children. We do enforce these laws as requested, and apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

Do I have to tan at the store where I signed up?

No. Once you sign up at one of our Beach House Tan locations, you are free to tan at whichever location is most convenient to you at that time.

What do I need to bring with me if I want to start tanning at Beach House Tan?

If you have never tanned with us before, you will need to bring a valid picture ID with you. If you are under 18, you will also need to bring a parent with you.

We also require you to provide a credit/debit card or voided check if you plan to sign up for a monthly auto-draft membership.

Can I leave my children in the lobby to wait while I tan?

Our insurance will not allow us to have unattended children under the age of 12 waiting in our stores. Well-behaved children 12 and older are welcome to wait while you tan.

How old do I have to be tan?

In CT and MA, anyone 14-15 can spray tan with parental consent. Your parent must be present each time you visit us. 16+ can spray unattended with a parental consent form signed initially.
In CT, You must be 17 with parental consent to sun bed or sun booth uv tan.
In MA, You must be 18 years of age or older to sun bed or sun booth uv tan.
